In January 30, 2018, Bioenergy Association of Ukraine (UABio) held a general open meeting during which presented the report for 2017, plans of the Association for 2018 and discussed a number of urgent issues that require regulation for bioenergy development in Ukraine.

The general meeting was attended by current and potential members of UABio, representatives of executive authorities, including the Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Sergiy Savchuk, Head of the Division on Substitution of traditional fuels Yuriy Shafarenko, Minregion and NKREKP representatives, representatives State Agency of forest resources, commercial companies, public organizations and the press.

At the meeting, the following issues were publicly presented and discussed:
- Draft Law of Ukraine on the introduction of an electronic trading system for biofuels;
- Draft Law of Ukraine "On amendments to some laws of Ukraine regarding the introduction of competition in heat supply systems",
- The issue of overcoming barriers for wood fuel harvesting in the forests of Ukraine.

Head of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine Georgiy Geletukha presented a report of UABio activities in 2017, as well as plans for 2018 and introduced new UABio members: Private company "Kramar", "Yugenergopromtrans" LLC.
